Information Communication and Technology and Tertiary Education Programme in Nigeria

This paper discussed Information Communication Technology and implementation of tertiary education programmes in Nigeria. The paper is a position paper. The paper used secondary data. The secondary data were collected from both print and online publications. Content analysis was used to analyze the selection of literature for the study. The paper established that there is positive relationship between information communication technology and implementation of teaching, research and provision of community service programme in the Nigerian tertiary institutions. Based on this findings, the paper recommends that the government through the national universities commission should provide adequate funding to the various tertiary institutions across the country for the procurement of information communication technology and installation in all the institutions. Training and retraining programme should be provided for all academic staff in all the institutions for easy integration of ICT into implementation of teaching, research and community programme.
