Impact of Inflation on Curriculum Implementation in Tertiary Education in Nigeria

This study examined the impact of inflation on curriculum implementation in tertiary institutions in Nigeria. Secondary data were used in the paper. The secondary data were collected from print and online publications. Content analysis was employed for literature screamed in the paper. The paper concluded that inflation has negatively affected smooth curriculum implementation in the Nigerian tertiary institutions. Specifically, inflation has affected implementer of curriculum’ cost of living and has led to increment in prices of curriculum implementation resources such as instructional resources, infrastructure facilities and chemical reagents. The paper also revealed that inflation have affected students’ academic works in the various tertiary institutions in Nigeria. Based on this findings, the paper suggests the following; review of the salaries and allowance of academic staff. Provision of school buses to all tertiary institutions to aid movement of lecturers and students. Increment in the budgetary allocation of all tertiary institutions across the country.
