Abstract

Throughout Sadulla Hakim's epic masterpiece ''Olis Yulduz'' the author illustrates the deep bond between nature and humanity before portraying their continuous battle between good and darkness. Siparangiz serves as a central figure in the epic to explain how vital courage and self-sacrificial acts and loyal patriotism represent similar conflicts between the hero's inner elements and outside challenges in hero's journeys. Through symbolic motifs the epic functions as a philosophical exploration by linking “Olis Yulduz” (the Star of Hope) to become guidance for those finding both meaning and justice in life. In this epic nature functions beyond its background role by becoming an active source which reflects and shapes what occurs inside the characters' minds. This work motivates readers to examine their life beliefs and their connection with the natural world while delivering eternal moral teachings which explain heroism through selfless acts beneficial to society.
