Abstract

In modern society, a person's success is directly related not only to their intellectual abilities but also to the level of their emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is a person's ability to understand their own and others' emotions, manage them, and effectively use them in social relationships. School years are the most important period of personality formation, and it is during this period that the development of emotional intelligence acquires special significance.

Currently, as in all spheres of our republic, large-scale reforms are being implemented in education. In the field of education and upbringing of the future young generation, solving such social problems as their socio-psychological behavior is also of particular importance. The need to develop the substantive characteristics of emotional intelligence in school-age children is a question related to their role as factors of personal and professional growth, influencing the success of a person's life at different age stages. Developing students' emotional intelligence and conducting correctional work is one of the pressing tasks of the modern education system. This work examines methods for determining the state of students' emotional intelligence, its development, and effective methods of correctional work. Issues related to assessing the emotional state of schoolchildren, increasing their emotional intelligence, and, if necessary, carrying out corrective work to improve their psychological health are discussed. Age-related aspects of emotional intelligence and modern methods of correctional work are considered, which have practical significance for school psychologists, teachers, and educators who can use them to support students' emotional development. It helps to identify the development of emotional intelligence in schoolchildren and the potential impact of correctional work on learning, social adaptation, and emotional intelligence.
