This paper examines the critical reception and interpretation of Charlotte Brontë's "Jane Eyre" across different literary traditions and historical periods. Through comprehensive analysis of scholarly literature from Western, Russian, and Uzbek critical traditions, this research explores how literary criticism has evolved in its understanding of the novel's feminist themes, narrative techniques, psychological depth, and social commentary. The findings reveal significant shifts in critical approaches to the novel, from early moralistic readings to contemporary interdisciplinary interpretations that emphasize its revolutionary portrayal of female autonomy and its challenge to Victorian social conventions.
