This paper discussed the roles of stakeholders in the development of tertiary education in Nigeria. The paper is a position paper that depends on secondary data. The secondary data were collected from print and online publications. The paper revealed that stakeholders' roles in tertiary education management in Nigeria include; ensuring accountability in resource allocation in the system; improvement of quality education, provision of technical support, infrastructure facilities development, provision of financial assistance and implementation of policies in the institutions. The paper also noted that stakeholders have critical roles in planning, formulating policies and decision-making in the management of tertiary education. Based on these findings, the paper recommends that federal and state governments should actively engage the tertiary education stakeholders in the planning, formulating of policies and decision-making in respect of tertiary education management in Nigeria. The government should organize training for stakeholders in tertiary education to improve their skills and knowledge of new approaches towards effective collaboration and involvement in the management of education. Stakeholders in tertiary education should be actively involved in the management of tertiary education by attending government public hearings and government meetings.
