Abstract

This article examines the concept of connotation in linguistics, exploring its semantic-philosophical essence and its relationship with secondary nomination. The evaluative, emotional, and expressive features of connotative units are systematically analyzed, and their role within linguistic and communicative pragmatics is substantiated. Examples illustrate how connotation forms within socio-cultural contexts and reflects the subjective stance of language users.
